Scientific name / local name: Stapelia, Huernia,Orbea,Duvalia

Origin:  The largest number of genera are native to Africa, but a more limited number of genera are widespread in Arabia and Asia.

Flower colour :  Brown, white, yellow, pink

Soil :  extremely well drained

sun/shade : full sun

watering : only when they are dry again

Hardiness/ temp. ( C)  :  min 5C when super dry

Height :  50-80cm, some species crawling

Overall information : The Stapeliads are a very interesting genus, mostly grown for their spectacular flowers. True some of the species their flowers have a bad smell, but the size and shape of these flowers is impressive.

They want full sun, treat them like a cactus, do not worry if they shrivel a bit. Do not fertilize them too much. Do not turn the plant when flower buds emerge.
